This week, our feature on diaper recycling was the most clicked-on story. Globally, companies like Woosh and Unicharm have been developing technologies to reduce diaper waste through recycling.

Meanwhile, Unicharm announced that it is adding a third factory in India to boost production capacity for disposable diapers by 30% there. The new factory, a reported $131 million investment, will begin operating this month in western India’s Gujarat state. The site was home to a plant that opened in 2018 and burned down in June 2020. The new factory is expected to create about 1000 jobs.
